Attacking Drills – Transition Game 2

DESCRIPTION
• blue team in the middle zone starts with the ball and attacks one end and tries to score on one of the two mini goals
• play goes on until the blue team scores or the red team gets the ball across the middle line
• red team attacks now the opposite end defended by the grey team and the blue team moves behind the end line vacated by the red team
• defending team must start from behind the goal line and can enter field as soon as attacking team crosses the middle line
VARIATION
• play 3v3, 5v5 etc.
• limit number of touches
• adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group

• good angle and distance of support to receive ball

DESCRIPTION
• one defending team in front of each goal as shown
• one attacking team starts in the middle
• the attacking team starts with the ball and attempts to score on one goal with the defenders trying to prevent this
• if the ball is won by the defending team the defenders give it right back to the attacking team who now starts an attack on the other goal
• switch roles after 5-7 minutes
VARIATION
• play 3v3v3, 5v5v5 etc.
• create a numbers up situation (i.e. 5 attackers vs. 2 x 3 defenders)
• adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
