DESCRIPTION
• attacker and defender stand in the centre of the grid as shown
• the coach plays the ball into the feet of the attacker who has to try to score on either goal
• the defender attempts to block the shot or to play the ball out of bounce
• switch roles after 5-7 minutes
VARIATION
• vary positions of the goals
• four touches maximum for attackers
• if the defender wins the ball they can try and score as well
• the coach varies how the ball is played in (thrown, high or low, backspin etc.)
• adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group

• body position and balance
• eye on ball
• quality of preparation touch
• contact surface
• aggressive and positive mentality

DESCRIPTION
• play 4v4
• each team defends and attacks 2 mini goals
• players cannot make forward passes
• teams score a point if a player beats a defender with a move or simply score a goal
• if a defender is beaten with a move and a goal is scored right after it counts three points
• finish session without restriction
VARIATION
• play 3v3, 5v5, 6v6 etc.
• add a neutral player
• players cannot make forward passes in the attacking half
• adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group if necessary
