DESCRIPTION
• player A passes to player B who lays it off to player C who then crosses the ball in for player D + E
• repeat sequence from the other side
• players must try to finish on first touch
• players switch position after 3-4 minutes
VARIATION
• players F + B can play to either player E or C
• allow player F (B) to enter the grid as a defender
• players must try to finish off headers or volley shots
• adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group
COACHING POINTS
Attacking:
• accurate passes
• quick finish
• aggressive and positive mentality
• placement versus power
• angle of approach
• preparation touch before crossing
• quality of cross (weight of cross, speed of cross)
Defending:
• angle and speed of approach
• intercept pass
• deny turn
• timing and decision to tackle
• control and restraint

DESCRIPTION
• the server makes a lofted pass to the goalie who catches it and throw/punts the ball to the other server who makes a throw-in to the first player in line who dribbles through the cone goal and finishes on goal
VARIATION
• add a defender at the cone goal who can only defend the goal line (he can only move sideways)
• adjust spacing depending on the age and ability of the group

• seal off defender
• quality of preparation touch
• contact surface
• aggressive and positive mentality
• placement versus power
Defending:
• angle and speed of approach
• timing and decision to tackle
